At the edge of the world, you will find this savage, romantic place: Tierra del Fuego, Land of Fire

Tierra del Fuego (Land of Fire) is the most southern province of Argentina and covers the eastern half of the same named Isle on the southern peak of South America. Also a few more isles on the South Atlantic and part of the Antarctic sector (the official name of the province is Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur). The main location is Ushuaia and this is the most southern town of the earth.

In the north is flat terrain with steppes, the southern third is predominated by the foothills of the Andes. It has a cold, ocean climate, specially in the south where there is a lot of humidity. In the protected valleys one will find subtropical forest.

Outside the two small towns, Ushuaia and Río Grande, live very few people. The population is made up of pratically all immigrants from the northern provinces.

Snowy peaks, great glaciers, small valleys, canals and fjords, lakes and a sea with icebergs even in summer. These are the natural signs of the region around Ushuaia and near the Beagle Canal. The region here is, including the coastline, a National park. Its lush forests have in autumn the most intesive reds. Another fun activity to do here is to do a sailing tour on the Antarctic.
