Patagonia

The province Neuquén and its capital with the same name is situated on the northern edge of Patagonia in the west of Argentina.

The land is mountainous and varies from sparse, wide steppes, to woodlands on the west of the Andes.

More than half of the populaion lives in town and the area surrounding it. The rest of the province is quite deserted.

Winter and summer play an important role for tourism in the Andes. The most known vacational site is San Martín de los Andes. If you are looking to experience nature, making a visit to the Nahuel Huapi- and the Lanin National Park is well worth it. In this hiking paradise, one will see water falls, volcanoes, small geysers and peaceful lakes. The area gathered fame with archeological digs for dinosaurs and other interesting artifacts.
