The Argentinian Riviera reaching from Buenos Aires to the province Rio Negro, offers nice and clean beaches, and plenty of entertainment.

The almost 1000km long Argentinian "Riviera" in Argentina starts in Badeort San Clemente del Tuyú, which is nearest to the capital of Buenos Aires (approx. 300km to the south). Other bathing resorts are Santa Teresita or Mar de Ajó, to Pinamar. Pinamar is very luxurious, and is a beach resort which is in fashion for rich Argentinian families. It has warm waters and is in the middle of pine and euculyptus forests and possesses clean beaches. Adventure sports are very popular there.

Further south is Villa Gesell, with plenty of cultural entertainment. Shortly before Mar del Plata there is the quiet beach resort called Mar Chiquita that is surrounded by sand dunes.

Like all beach resorts in Argentina, the big city, Mar del Plata (with 500,000 habitants and approx. 3 million visitors during the summer) is fully booked long beforehand. It offers rich cultural and sporting possibilities as well as hotels and restaurants for all tastes. However, those that prefer a quieter holiday should come here during spring and autumn. The prices are better then too. During the summer months, Mar de Plata turns into a sort of amusment park and consumption circus.

Further southwest is the coastline that is mostly rocky, but some beaches can be encoutered. From Miramar to the luxury resort Necochea with its nice swimming beaches, you can go fishing or windsurf. Several kilometers south of Necochea are more small beach resorts until you reach the province Río Negro. Also in the provinces Chubut and Santa Cruz it is possible to have a swimm in the Atlantic.

The Argentinian holiday coast is easily reached from Buenos Aires (highway, train, plane).
