The culture rich heart of Argentina. Cordoba is the cultural capital of this country, hosting the university city, and being the capital of the province that carries the same name. A visit to the city of Cordoba is a must during your holidays in Argentina.

The Province Cordoba is also called „the heart of Argentina“ because of its situation in the centre of the country. Cordoba has one million inhabitants and is the second biggest city of Argentina.

In the low situated Pampas and the valleys surrounded by the mountain chain of the Sierras de Córdoba with peaks sometimes reaching up to 2800m, a moderate climate prevails. Warm, humid summers change into mild, very dry winters. On the almost completely isolated high plateau the climate is mild in summer and cold in winter.

There are practically no natives left in Cordoba.. The population consists of descendents of Spaniards, Italians, Germans and Argentinians from the norther provinces, on the outlook for work.

Tourism is playing a vital role in these parts. The provincial capital was founded in 1574. It is a modern town with an university and important, historical tradition. It has a vivid atmosphere and a rich cultural offer. The Sierras de Córdoba are one of the favoured destinations, only preceded by the Atlantic coast. The main tourist centres are Villa Carlos Paz or many holiday resorts like , La Falda and Mina Clavero. In these spa resorts one can swim in the rivers, go hiking or practise any of the other sports.
