Cordoba Argentina South America
Your note
Cordoba is countryside and metropolis, all rolled into one. There are one million habitants and it is the second biggest city in Argentina.
Cordoba has all together seven universiteis and thousands of studends and is hence the educational centre of the country. With its many restaurants, bars and discos, theatre concert halls and cinemas, there is always plenty to do. Cordoba has together with the town Salta also the best conserved colonial style architecture in Argentina. Some examples of this can be seen in the cathedral (build in 1577), the Manzana Jesuítica from the 17th Century, and the oldest Argentine university.
Nevertheless being a metropolis where millions of people live, downtown is quite manageable to be visited by walking around. Plenty of shops and big markets are situated here. Outside the city centre are some parks, in the southside of the city, there is a luxury residential quarter called Nueva Cordoba and nearby is the recreation region of the Sierra de Córdoba.
