Province with many faces.

The Die Province of Buenos Aires is situated south of Buenos Aires and includes the fertile Pampa plain. Also situated there is the capital of the province La Plata in the east of the country. Its natural border to the east is the Atlantik. The southern point belongs to Patagonia. Also in the south is the mountain range of the Sierra de la Ventana (up to 1100 m) und the Sierra de Tandil.

With more then a third of the total population in Argentina it has the highest population of the country and the same goes for its dimensions. In the northeast of the province, on the Río de la Plata is Buenos Aires located, which is however, contrary to its provinces, is not part of it.

The moderate ocean climate features warm summers and mild winters, a very high scale humidity and an amazing amount of rain all throughout the year. From the west to the southwest it does get dryer.

The majority of the population are descendants from Spanish, Italian and English settlers, whereby the latter are mostly found in the south. Especially the past few decades, a lot of new immigrants from the surrounding countries and from poorer regions in Argentina moved to the metropolis for the obvious reasons to find work. This resulted in exploding suburban areas. Nevertheless, Argentina shows a clear reduction of population growth.

Of tourist interest is foremost the Atlantik coast with all of its beaches. Here are located many Balnearios (seaside resorts) like for example the Mar del Plata or the holiday coastline Costa Atlántida, Villa Gesell, San Clemente de Tuyú or Pinamar. Here one can find casinos, or enjoy the night life and practise a number of sports. Worth seeing near Buenos Aires is Lujan, the most important place of pilgrimage in Argentina, the historically important town La Plata and the popular recreation spot Tigre on the Rio Parana, which merges into the Río de la Plata.
